A drive was missed or cut in two
Rearview records on its own only when location access is set to Always and Motion & Fitness is allowed (iPhone Settings → Rearview). Low Power Mode and turning Wi-Fi off can make short drives easier to miss. A stop of about five minutes ends a drive, so a long errand stop shows up as two drives. If a drive was missed with everything allowed, tell us the date and roughly how long it was.
It recorded a bus or train ride
Your phone's motion sensor reports vehicles, not whose vehicle. Delete the drive from its detail screen.
Can I start a drive by hand?
Yes. If you would rather not allow "Always", the list screen offers a Start a drive button; the drive still ends on its own when you stop.
Where are my drives stored?
On your iPhone, and — if you are signed in to iCloud — backed up to your own private iCloud storage. Not on our servers. Settings in the app shows which of these is true right now.
New iPhone
Sign in to the same Apple ID with iCloud on, open Rearview, and your drives come back from your iCloud. For a purchase, tap Restore Purchases on the paywall or in Settings.
Why is my older history locked?
The last 7 days are free. Older drives stay on your phone, locked rather than deleted, until you unlock Full History (yearly or lifetime) — or delete them yourself.
Cancel or get a refund
Subscriptions and refunds are handled by Apple: iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions to cancel, and reportaproblem.apple.com to ask for a refund.
Delete my data
Settings → Delete all drives removes them from your iPhone and your iCloud backup. There is no account to delete.
